Misplacing your Emirates ID can be stressful. It’s not just a card, but it’s your official key to everything in the UAE. You’ll instantly be eligible to open a bank account to get medical help. It even aids you in passing through immigration gates at the airport. However, if you’ve lost it or someone has stolen it, don’t panic! We’ve created a simple, step-by-step guide. This blog post helps you report it and replace it. Know how to get back on track without missing a beat.

Stay with us as we explain everything you need to know. The steps are straightforward and hassle-free.

Step-by-Step Approach to Report and Replace a Lost Emirates ID

As discussed, we’ve outlined the steps below needed to report a complaint to obtain your lost Emirates ID.

Step 1: Report the Lost Emirates ID Immediately

Time is everything when your Emirates ID goes missing. Head to the nearest ICA Customer Happiness Centre as soon as you notice the card is gone. That’s where you officially report the loss.

When you get there, bring a valid document that proves your identity. Once your identity is confirmed, they’ll deactivate your lost card on the spot. If you don’t act fast, someone else might misuse your ID, so don’t delay this step.

Here’s what you need to bring based on your status:

  • ●     UAE Citizens: Bring your original passport and family book.
  • ●     GCC Nationals: Carry any of these – employment proof, school certificate, marriage contract, commercial license, or residency lease.
  • ●     Expats: Bring your passport and valid residency visa.
  • ●     For kids under 15: Parents need to show the child’s birth certificate and a passport-sized photo with a white background.

Lost your card, but it’s damaged, not gone? Bring the damaged card with you.

💡 Might think, How to report a lost Emirates ID online? You can also report the lost ID using the UAEICP app. It is available on the App Store and Play Store for an even easier experience.

Step 2: Apply for a Replacement ID Card

Once you've reported the loss, it’s time to request a new one. You can do this in two ways:

  1. In person: Visit the ICA Customer Happiness Centre and fill out the replacement form there.
  2. Online: Apply via the official ICA website. Also, you can apply through the UAEICP app.

The process is smooth for a replacement process. The required forms are easy to understand. Just need to fill in your details and submit the request.

Step 3: Pay the Fees for Replacement

Nobody likes unexpected charges, but getting your new Emirates ID does come with a fee. Here’s what you can expect:

●     Card replacement fee: AED 300

●     Typing centre service fee: AED 70

●     Online application fee: AED 40

💡 Want it fast? Opt for the Express Service by paying an extra AED 150. Your new card will arrive even quicker!

These lost Emirates ID fees are the same whether you are a UAE citizen, GCC national, or expat resident.

Step 4: Track the Lost Emirates ID and Collect it

You’ll receive a confirmation SMS from ICA after application submission and fees are paid. This message will include important details. Including your application number and when you can expect your new card.

Usually, the new card is ready within two working days. A courier will deliver it to you after it’s dispatched. Call the courier on 6005-30003 to check the delivery status.

What If You Lost Your Emirates ID Outside the UAE?
