  • -Candidates must hold a current job contract.
  • -According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, fall under the first, second, or third occupational level.
  • -A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent must be the required minimum level of education.
  • -The salary of the applicant must be at least AED 15,000. (USD 4,083.74).
  • Please take note that after the green visa UAE expires, professionals who fall under the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization’s third-level categorization are in place for a 90-day extra grace period.


3.2 Green residency visa for independent work and self-employment


The new green visa scheme for freelance work and self-employment offers a 5-year residency for creatives and self-employed people in the UAE without the need for a sponsor or employer in light of the significant global growth of the freelancing sector and the idea of flexible work models.

The only prerequisites are:


  • -First, acquiring a license from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization to work for oneself or as a freelancer.
  • -Then, during their stay in the nation, the applicant must be able to demonstrate their financial stability.
  • -Consequently, a diploma or degree with a bachelor’s degree as the minimal requirement for schooling.
  • -Lastly, a self-employment income of AED 360,000 per year for the past two years (USD 98,009.86).


4. Green visa UAE for partners or investors



To promote investment, the Green home for partners or investors has been introduced. Consequently, it grants investors who launch or engage in commercial activity five years of residency. Additionally, the validity period for this category has an extension from the prior 2 years to the current 5 years.

The prerequisites comprise:

  • -Authorization of the investment and documentation of the one million AED investment.
  • -The total investment proposal will be determined if the investor (partner) has multiple licenses.


-It is necessary to obtain the proper local authorities’ approval.


4.1 Newly available family benefits


Family members receive more benefits under the new system. As a result, the UAE now makes it simple for residents to bring their spouses and kids with them.

The grace period for green visa holders and their relatives to leave the UAE after a resident visa cancelation has been prolonged to 6 months, per the information the typing center agents accessed on the ICP system.
